356 B
Pegaso.
A 1963 Porsche 356 Super 90, hand-painted in the spirit of La Carrera Panamericana. Built for Tejas Turismo, painted by Veronica Velazquez, and carried by the love of three generations.

A 1963 Porsche 356 Super 90, chosen to carry a story.
This year, Tejas Turismo arrives in a 1963 Porsche 356 Super 90. A car chosen not because it needed to be fast, but because it carries a story worth telling slowly. Every panel has been considered, every line of paint laid by hand, and the result is something that belongs on the road as much as it belongs in a frame.
The 356 has always been a car about feel rather than force, about the way a well-sorted chassis settles into a long corner and stays there. This one keeps that spirit intact, then adds a layer of folk art on top of it. It is a car built to be driven, and built to be looked at, in equal measure.

Painted by hand, by Veronica Velazquez.
The car was designed and painted by artist Veronica Velazquez, who works in different art forms including traditional Mexican art of Rotulos. The hand-painted lettering and signage that has marked trucks, markets, and racing machines for generations. There are no decals here. Every letter, every flourish, every flying Pegasus is brushed freehand, the way it has always been done.
Rotulos is a craft of patience and love for art and traditional culture.
From Mexico, with love.

Born of La Carrera Panamericana.

The design pays homage to La Carrera Panamericana, the legendary Mexican road race where cars wore their numbers and their pride in full color. It is a style born of speed and folk art, of drivers who painted their names onto their doors before they trusted them to the road.
The 356 wears that tradition with intention. The large 05 as it represents a family of 5 members, the flourishes around the wheel arch, the custom designed Pegasus that gives the car its name. Each element is a nod to a time when the car and the driver were announced by the paint on the body, not the screen on the dash.
Specially built for Tejas Turismo.

A motor built for rallies. As of September 2026, Pegaso's motor has been taken out to undergo preparations for Tejas Turismo including better displacement, upgraded carburetors and much more.
The 356 B Super 90 wasn't designed for speed, but for the way it feels to turn the key, to feel the engine catch, to watch the needle climb. The car was built to be driven, and the interior was built to keep the driver close to every sensation of the road. Pegaso represents this feeling of freedom and making the world yours to explore.

Tita y Tito. A keepsake in motion.
For car owner Valeria Verdejo, the car is personal. It carries the names of all her grandparents, Tita y Tito, Irma y Chucho whose names are painted right onto the hood in the same hand that painted the rest. Valeria's love for the road and for the craft of driving is stitched into every detail.
This is not a restoration. It is a keepsake in motion, a way of carrying the people you love onto the road wherever the road takes you. The patina is left on purpose. The worn patches of original beige paint are part of the story, the way a well-used tool keeps the marks of the hands that used it. Nothing here is trying to look new. It is trying to look loved.

More to come.

Driving is Freedom!
It is the phrase that holds the whole project together, and the one the car will carry across the Texas Hill Country this year. The build continues, and more of the story will follow as the 356 gets closer to the starting line.
